MA Education Courses: Can I be Accepted?

Back to More Questions

Your Question

I am a self-taught student with a bachelor's degree (average score: 73) in English. And I have 8 years teaching work experience. I plan to go on my study for a MA but I wonder if I could be accepted by any of the UK universities which are famous for education. Could you please recommend me some of them?

The Answer

If you have good teaching experience and you have a good IELTS score (at least 6.5 but 7.0 or above is better) then you can be accepted by a famous UK university (even though your grade is well below 80%). UK Universities value good work experience.

You should also apply to less famous universities (chose 4-6 universities to apply to).

Use our Course Search on www.how2uk.com to find courses (enter: 'My bachelor degree is: Language' and 'I want to study a Masters in: Education & English)' You should focus on MA in Education courses and especially the ones which require work experience. Here are some suitable courses:

Aberdeen: MLitt English Linguistics for Advanced Teachers of English
Edinburgh: MSc Language Teaching
Essex: MA English Language Teaching
