Graduation Rate of St Andrews University Foundation Courses

Back to More Questions

Your Question

Hello, I'm asking about the graduation rate of premaster in University of St.Andrews. How many students don't get 60% every year? If they don't reach the requirement, what kind of university can they enter to study and get master's degree? Does St.Andrew have International Trade course?

Is the diploma Business English only a diploma course? If I want to study master's courses, should I apply for this course? What about the tuition fees and graduate rate of this course? Does Aston and Lancaster have this kind of premaster course? In these three universities, which is the best one for business course and living environment?

The Answer
St Andrews University tells us:

"The students who don't make the 60% are all placed successfully at other universities. The Diploma is well-known and recognised by many good business schools across the UK

Students who graduate with a score of 60% or more are guaranteed a place at the University of St Andrews School of Management for their masters degree, if they wish.  We assist all students to secure places in UK universities.  We have close links with many UK universities and students who pass the course successfully can expect a smooth progression to the next stage of their academic career. In previous years, students have gone on to study at St Andrews, Durham, Strathclyde, Liverpool, Newcastle, Reading, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Bristol, UEA, Loughborough, Bradford, Keele, City, Cardiff, Heriot Watt, Sheffield Hallam and many more."

We do not know how many students each year stay at St Andrews for a Masters degree and how many go on to the other universities.

If you are a 3 year diploma holder you are suitable for this course and you will need to study it (or one like it) before you can do your Masters at any UK university. However if you have or will get a Bachelors degree in China you do not need to apply for this course.

The fees for this course are: 13,300 GBP

    Your Question
Was any student study in St Andrews (for premaster/foundation) for 1 year but never recieve any offer? If I apply for other universities should I retake IELTS? Does St Andrews have the subject of International Trade if I continue to study in this university?
    The Answer
All students who have taken the St Andrews Foundation & Premasters courses have been successful in gaining a place at a UK university, although the standard of the university will depend on your performance.

If you apply to other universities for your Masters degree you may need to reach their IELTS requirement. Many universities will waive this requirement but some will require you to re-take.
