Advertising Marketing Degrees
Your Question你好，我现在是大四的学生，想咨询一下我这样的情况大概能申请到大概哪个级别的学校的硕士课程。我本科是读商务英语的，平均分81，雅思6.5（还犹豫要不要再去考个7分回来……），本科的大学虽不是211工程的大学，但在华南地区的名声还不错，我原来是想读公司公关类的课程，但只发现只有曼大有个corporate communications and reputation management的课程，请问还有其他有类似的课程吗？我另一个想申请的专业就是marketing之类的，因为我本科阶段有marketing相关的比赛奖项和实习经验，现在暂时看到的是Leeds的advertising and marketing，Loughborough和Birmingham的marketing,但因为知道Marketing这个专业很多人都抢着申请，所以觉得很挣扎~另外，我也看到surrey这个学校，看到网上的留言对它褒贬不一，知道它的商科不错，但综合就不太理想……所以麻烦你们能帮忙! 析一下我这个情况大概能申请哪几所学校呢？！谢谢你们的帮助
I am a year 4 student majoring in Business English average score 81, IELTS 6.5 (I may retake for 7). My university is not 211 but it has a good reputation in South China. I want to apply for PR course and I find there is only corporate communications and reputation management at Manchester University. Are there other universities offering similar courses? I'm also thinking of applying for Marketing because I have competition awards & intern experience in this field. Now I found Leeds Advertising & Marketing, Loughborough and Birmingham. I know there are a lot of applicants for marketing so I am unsure if I should apply. Also I researched Surrey and I saw many comments on this university. I know its business school is good but its overall ranking is not high. So can you help me analyse my situation and tell me which universities I should apply. Thanks!

Stirling University has an MSc Public Relations.
This university is in Scotland, so studying there will allow you to work in Scotland for 2 years after graduation. Other universities with courses similar to Manchester are:
Bedfordshire: MA Intercultural Communication
Central Lancashire: MA Intercultural Business Communication
Newcastle: MA Cross-cultural Communication & International Marketing.
Surrey: MA Intercultural Communication with International Business.

It is good to think also of Marketing and you are right, Marketing is more competitive. The universities you mentioned are very good in this field. Birmingham usually only accept people from 211 universities but if you have good work experience you can try. Leeds I think can accept you. To find other Marketing courses use the How2UK course search (in your case you should enter: 'I have a degree in': Language and 'I want to study a Masters in': Business).
Surrey is a good university but not a very famous one. It was one of the first universities in Britain to specialise in Business and so you are right it is strong in this field. I would suggest you apply to this plus other more famous universities such as Birmingham and Loughborough.
