Your Question

I want to study Economics, but I am only a three year university student, can I apply for the course?

The Answer

You need to study a one year Pre-Masters course first. Many Pre-Masters courses do not allow students to study a Masters degree in Economics. But if your 3 year diploma was in Economics then you can apply to the following:

1. UEA: University of East Anglia. Apply for their new Pre-Masters course www.uea.ac.uk/into

2. Queen Mary, University of London: Apply for their Pre-Masters www.qmul.ac.uk

3. Northumbria: Apply for the final year of a bachelor degree in Economics, then you can study your one year Masters degree - so you'll get both a UK Bachelors and Masters degree. www.northumbria.ac.uk

4. Newcastle: You must first apply for a Masters degree and then if you are successful, you can apply for the Pre-Masters programme. In pratcice this is a big hassle and most students choose another university. www.newcastle.ac.uk

You can contact each university's International Office directly at:

UEA: intl.office@uea.ac.uk
QMUL: r.brocklehurst@qmul.ac.uk (Mr Richard Brocklehurst) or Fan Rong in Beijing r.fan@qmul.ac.uk
Northumbria: international@northumbria.ac.uk
Newcastle: enquiries@ncl.ac.uk
