Which kind of university will accept me and is there any opportunity that I can obtain any scholarship?

The Answer

Only a few UK universities specialise in this area, here are the best.

Reading University: www.apd.rdg.ac.uk/Agriculture/Teaching/Higher_Degree.htm
Nottingham University: www.nottingham.ac.uk/biosciences/anphy/anphyresearch.html
Newcastle University: www.ncl.ac.uk/afrd/postgrad/research/
Royal Veterinary College: www.rvc.ac.uk
Edinburgh University: www.ed.ac.uk
Glasgow University: www.glasgow.ac.uk
Cambridge University: www.cam.ac.uk
Bristol University: www.bristol.ac.uk

Can you be accepted? The really important thing is your PhD proposal which you must write when you apply. If this suggests that you have a very high-level knowledge of the subject then you should be ok. It also needs to show that you have a unique idea for your research. As for your GPA, the important question is how high were you in your class. If you can say you were in the top of your class then this will be ok.

For funding you should visit this page: www.how2uk.com/Info_scholarships_2.html. You cannnot apply for Chevening scholarships as they are for one year Masters only. Most of the above universities will qualify you to apply for an ORS scholarship. You need to say on your application form that you want to apply for an ORS award and then if the university accept your application, you can then apply for the award. But it is only awarded to excellent students, you will need to be one of the top students in your class.
