AS Levels: applying to universities

A-Levels for UK Universities

Back to More Questions

Your Question

I'm studying AS Levels in the UK now, in Sept I will start my A2 but my first year's results are disappointing CCUU. Can I apply for good universities of course, I will be taking the exams again? I am studying maths, furter-maths, chemistry, art in my AS. I would like to study finance & accounting in Imperial College & UCL, is it ok as my AS results?

The Answer

A lot depends on what major you want to study for your degree. Science subjects often have lower requirements, for example CCC can get you in to a good university but for popular subjects like Business Studies and Law you will need B grades at least to go to the good universities.

But I'm afraid those 2 universities require very high grades, usually AAA or ABB for subjects such as Economics (I don't think they have finance and accounting at undergraduate level).
