I took my Gao Kao this year, and applied for Sheffield University Foundation, this course is unique, if I can get 60% I can go to year 2 directly, if not I go to year 1. Because it is rare I can ask nobody can you help me, do you know anything about this kind of course, thanks! One more thing is it true that I can apply for any university's Masters degree as long as I can get a Bachelor degree?
The Answer
We contacted Sheffield International College (where the Sheffield Foundation programme is run). Unfortunately they have not responded to us.
However I can tell you that for the Sheffield Foundation course you cannot go to year 2 in Sheffield University even if you get +60% in your Foundation programme - all students must go on to year one. The company that runs the Sheffield Foundation programme (at Sheffield International College) also runs the Foundation programme at Nottingham Trent University. If you study the Nottingham Trent course then you can go to year 2 directly (but for Nottingham Trent only).
And yes, you can apply to any university for your Masters degree. see sic.org.uk
