Biosciences can be divided in to Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biological Sciences and Biomedical Engineering. British institutions are amongst the leaders in this very important and modern field.
Undergraduate degrees take just 3 years and many International Foundation programmes will allow you on to this degree.
At Masters level there are no conversion degrees and you must have studied Biosciences at undergraduate level. You can specialise in: Biomedicine; Genetics; Forensics; Immunology; Microbiology (public health); Toxicologist.
It is not essential but 40% of undergraduate students go on to postgraduate study, as many jobs in the field require this. You can work within Pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, government labs, and R&D in Food & Drink companies. Positions in industry can command very good salaries.
