The advantages to studying Business in Britain are:
1. A Masters only takes one year, and a Bachelor degree only three years.
2. The UK has the second highest number of top Business schools in the world (USA is number one)
3. London is the world's financial centre and Britain is a leading economy.
4. The UK invests more money in China than any other European country this means there are many UK companies either in China or hoping to come to China.
5. The Visa - its relatively easy!
6. Work - you can work in the UK for one year after you graduate and if you study in Scotland you can work for 2 years!!
What kind of job can you do? That's a good question! Its too early to give details because the 1-2 year work visa has only recently been introduced. But we are going to contact the UK government to ask for details and then we will publish the details (in 2 to 3 weeks). Certainly if you study a Bachelor degree in Finance/Economics/Maths in a leading UK university it is quite possible to be allowed to work in the UK indefinitely (for the finance industry in London). If you only study a Masters degree you will probably only be able to work in Britain for those one or two years after you graduate. But this will be great experience and can make your career much better when you return to China.
What should I pay attention to? Improve your spoken English while you study (many students don't try to improve their English once they have been accepted on to the course). Get good grades and most importantly get good references from your UK teachers (to do this you should be pro-active in class). Undertake activities outside your study, (for example part-time work, sports, etc.). Write a good resume - you should consider getting a specialist UK company to help you do this. And start applying for jobs early - a few months before you graduate.
