Diploma International Law Next course

In a typical year, there will be approximately 1,000 applications and only 200 to 250 offers are made. Generally, about 125 students take the LL.M. each academic year.

The Cambridge LL.M. (Master of Law) programme is a one-year taught course commencing at the beginning of October each year and ending in June of the following year. The LL.M. offers highly qualified and intellectually outstanding students the opportunity to pursue their legal studies at an advanced level in a challenging but supportive environment. The course, with its rich historical traditions attracts students of the highest calibre, drawn in roughly equal numbers from both the common law and civil law traditions. The LL.M., as a Masters degree, is intended for those who wish to pursue further legal studies after completing their first degree in law, including those who are considering an academic career or intend to practice law.

The advanced nature of the LL.M. is reflected in the fact that the course is organised and taught separately from the undergraduate law course at Cambridge. All of the courses are specifically tailored for the LL.M. course.

LL.M. students take four papers, each of which is generally assessed by means of written examination. One of the four papers may instead be taken by thesis.

RE:How to apply to Cambridge LLM
How to Apply:

1. Obtain an application form, complete it and send it to the University’s Board of Graduate Studies. All applications can be made online or by paper.

2. Arrange for transcripts and letters of recommendation to be sent to the Board of Graduate Studies. Letters of recommendation that explain how an applicant performed in his/her academic studies in comparison to his/her peers are of particular value to the Committee.

3. Take a English language proficiency test and arrange for the Board of Graduate Studies to receive the results.

4. Submit the relevant documention to the Board of Graduate Studies by the prescribed deadline.

The LL.M. application deadline is December 1st, 2007 and the deadline for online applications is two weeks earlier, November 17th, 2007. Late applications will not be processed.

The LL.M. Admissions Committee considers applications in two stages. First, there is an initial screening of all applications. At this point, some applications that clearly do not meet the required academic standards will be rejected and a number of expedited offers will begin to be made to clearly outstanding applicants. Second, all remaining applications will be considered and ranked against each other so as to determine when an offer of an LL.M. place will be made.

The Law Faculty will finalise all LL.M. application decisions by 15 April 2008 for the 2008-09 LL.M. course. Prior to this time, you can check the status of your application on your online.

LLM admission in UK for Indian student
I understand from previous comment that deadline was 1 dec but I am eager to take admission this year itself. Do you have admissions twice a year if yes when is next date and are admissions still open in any other UK university. I wouldn't mind even if i have to take admissions somewhere in Aug sept provoded you admit then.
thanks

marks for the master degree programme in law
Anon 1: there is only one intake per year, you must now wait to next year to apply for this programme.

Anon 2: you will need at least a good 2.1 from a good Indian university, other things, tuition fees and so on can be seen at the top of this page

is experience in the field of law counts for LLM admission? I have worked for one year in conveyancing and in the District Courts. so for LLM admissions does experience takes into account?
