Preparing international students for undergraduate study. Start dates in September and January Students will spend 12 hours per week in English classes where the maximum number of students will be 18. The additional hours will be dedicated to the studentsĄŻ specialist stream. The course aims to help students with the development of academic and English language skills. Modules taught to enable this are academic writing, speaking and listening together with academic study skills, integrated language skills and British studies. It develops and consolidates mathematical skills. Modules in specialist subject areas are taught in Business, computing, Law, Electronics, Humanities, Social Sciences, Engineering and Science and Technology. Progression On successful completion of the IFP, students can progress to the first year of the specific University of Glamorgan undergraduate award to which their IFP pathway leads. Students wanting to progress to a different award at Glamorgan will be assisted in making an application. Students who wish to progress to undergraduate studies at any other university within the UK can apply through the usual UCAS application process. Areas of study at Bachelor degree level within the university include: Business, IT, Law, Engineering, Science, Arts, Accounting, Economics, Language Entry Requirements Students must normally be 18 years or over, and have gained a valid national school leaving certificate at an appropriate level and must have a level of English equivalent to IELTS 5.0, TOEFL 500 (paper-based) or TOEFL 173 (computer based).
