Previous course MSc Manufacturing Engineering & Management MSc Money, Banking & Finance Next course

This programme is designed for graduates wishing to start, or further develop, careers in marketing.

It explores the principles, theoretical concepts and practice of marketing with particular emphasis on contemporary issues and leading edge marketing thinking.

The programme involves six taught modules, including three core modules (Marketing Strategy, Marketing Management and Marketing Research) followed by three specialist modules chosen from a list of electives such as Retail and Services Marketing; International Marketing; Brand Management; Marketing Communications; and Consumer Behaviour.

You also undertake a substantial research dissertation on a marketing topic of your choice. Recent dissertations include 'live' marketing projects in various industry sectors, investigations of particular areas such as interactive marketing, marketing communications or retail marketing in specified industry contexts, and conceptual projects drawing on existing published sources.

The programme invites guests from industry, academia and professional associations to address participants on a variety of themes. Presenters have included representatives of the UK Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Institute of Public Relations, and the Institute of Direct Marketing, as well as individual experts in the field.

Aspects of the degree are sponsored by the Market Research Society and the Chartered Institute of Marketing. The programme currently has a very active student chapter of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, which receives recognition and funding from the Institute.

 Re: MSc Marketing
This course is probably the most difficult to be accpeted on to of all the courses at Birmingham’s business school - it is one of the best Marketing programmes in the UK.

Chinese students will probably need 85% grade from a prestigious Chinese university (211 at least). For other countries this means an ‘A’ grade in your bachelor degree.

Plus you probably need you ielts score before you apply.

But all this means it is a great programme and your classmates are very good!
