In Britain most Music postgraduate degrees require you to have majored in Music at undergraduate level. However, if you can prove your natural musical ability (in any discipline/instrument) this will normally be enough if your Bachelor degree is not Music. In most degrees you will specialise in one of 3 areas:
- Performance (of the instrument)
- Composition (writing)
- Musicology (science of music)
