British Equivalence of CGPA English Chinese

Hi All,

I am Daniyal from Pakistan. I have a question on the British Equivalence of CGPA (Cumulative GPA). I have a CGPA of 2.7 from NUST, Pakistan which has a very tough grading criteria compared with other Universities within Pakistan and NUST equates CGPA 2.50 to 60% Marks (1st Division). Will my CGPA translate to British Equivalent of 2:2? I had recently offer from Strathclyde University based on my CGPA but I am interested to pursue with Brunel University as I will not have to leave London. Brunel has refused to offer me admission with reason that my CGPA (2.65) does not meet the minimum entry requirement of British Equivalent 2:2. Please can any one help?

Hi pakimunda

Well if Strathclyde accepted you they must think that your score equates to a 2.2. Greenwich University is in London and I think they would accept you.

Have you checked this:

Hi Cozzie,

Thank you for your help and pointing me in the right direction. I sent this morning the link of NARIC comparison table which is the same as in your earlier message. According to this link, Bachelor of Engineering (55%) from Pakistani University is equivalent to British 2:1. I don't know why the International Office of Brunel University has objections on my GPA. Given the link I sent University this morning, we will see what do they respond now. By the way, they have been hopeless in the last couple of weeks to understand the simple conversions. Fingers crossed!!

Thanks

Best regards

pakimunda
