BigJin 2009/11/9 17:46No that's not true at all. UK degrees are of course recognised around the world as long as you study in a university in Britain. - they are very prestigious and that is why the UK is such a popular place to get a masters degree.
The main difference between the USA is that a masters takes only one year in Britain whereas in the USA it is 2 years. There are 2 reasons for this: (1) in the USA bachelor degrees are general and students will study many different courses but in the UK you specialise only in one subject for 3 years. So at masters level the starting point can be considered to be more advanced in level of previous knowledge for the UK (2) the study for a masters degree in the UK is very, very intensive - you will be writing essays every day for 12 months (no joke )Both countries are great destinations for international students |
