Cozzie 2008/7/2 17:43This should be of use to a lot people. I found it on the University of Abertay website but it comes from the NARIC guidelines which are used by all universities in Britain and are the official guidelines of the UK government. If you can't find what you're looking for here check this post: UK degree classifications overseas requirements for my country Comparison with other EU HE Qualifications

newbee 2008/7/5 13:24Excuse me, if my country is not on the list does this mean my country's degree is not accepted by British universities?
Thank you |
|
Cozzie 2008/7/7 12:24No definitely not
The list contains the countries for which UK universities receive a good number of applications But if your country is not listed it does not mean you are not eligible Which country are you from? |

Paul 2008/7/10 17:21Hi newbee

kawes 2008/11/18 10:41Hi every body,I appreciate if some body tell what is the my rubish country's (IRAQ) equeveliant degree to uk.I got 60.8%
|
|
Cozzie 2008/11/19 17:28Hi Kawes, wow! i think you must be our first poster from Iraq so let me say welcome to How2UK
.I'll bet not may UK universities get applicants from Iraq so they may not have very definite requirements for your country. But I think that is good news for you, you'll be more likely to get an offer. I think the important question is how good a score is 60.8% in Iraq (like what percentage of students in your class would get that score or better)? And also what's your major? |

latro 2009/4/29 20:02hello! thank u for the useful information!! i just wanted to ask if these standards are used by all the british universities.
for example, i'm from greece and i supposedly hold a degree with a mark of 7 out of 10 (i've not finished yet) in pharmacy and i wanna apply for an Mphil in pharmacology in the university of Manchester (where 2i is required). Do i have any chance of being accepted given that i also have additional experience (eg. i've worked in a lab or hold an additional MsC)? Or am i automatically excluded because i have a degree lower than 7.68? and what's the source of this information? |
|
Paul 2009/5/1 13:48Hi latro
the table comes from NARIC which is a UK government agency and it is a guideline for British universities who want to know how to rate foreign qualifications but it is a guideline only and nowadays most UK universities have so much experience of accepting international students that they have their own specific requirements which although related to naric's can differ. So for Manchester University their requirements for Greek students are: Greek university degrees with a percentage point score of 6.5 or above are generally accepted for entry on to masters programmes. Candidates with qualifications gained from Technical Training Institutes are generally required to follow a pre-MSc course before advancing to regular masters programmes. If you already have an msc plus work experience I would say you will be accepeted ![]() |

Paul 2009/5/18 10:09An 2.2 from a central university in India equals 50% for an honours degree but you should confirm with the university by writing them an email.

Cozzie 2009/9/23 18:23I'm afraid for Cambridge it is not so simple as a required grade, it also depends on your previous university, your references and your statement but you can see what a 2.1 is equal to in India above
